Jarfly Awards

The inaugral 'Jarfly' awards are a great opportunity to show your skills and dance to live music.

Dancers will get up on the dance floor at the same time to 'dance-off' against one another to live music. There will be different levels of competition so that you will be showing your expertise with dancers of a similar level.

The dancers on the floor will then be peer-rated to win an the award in each level.

Why is it called the "Jarfly" - in Appalachian English (and yes, it is a separate designated language) a Jarfly refers to the sound that a Cicada makes when it is placed in a jar. Hence a 'jarfly'. (Think of that percussive sound that Cicadas make.)
